Selena Taylor was Neil Peart's first daughter. She was killed on August 10, 1997 at age 19 on her way to university in Toronto in a single-car crash on Highway 401 near the town of Brighton, Ontario where she rolled her 1997 Jeep several times. She is buried beside her mother, Jacqueline Flockhart Taylor, in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto. An arts scholarship has been established in Selena's name.
